I’m getting an early start to this day, but only because I couldn’t get to sleep. But at least I did something with those hours I should have spent in my bed. I exorcised a musical demon.
I’m sure you have one or two of these musical demons yourselves. A song that you know just enough of to keep you up an nights, and just too little of to find. I have slowly but surely been ridding myself of these demons for the past two years. Until last night, there were only two left.
For some reason or another, I decided to try and search for the twelve words worth of lyrics I knew. Well, after two hours of cross referencing song titles with Amazon and CD Now, hoping they had recorded a clip of the song, (how I found some of my other demons,) I finally got what I was looking for.
Considering how many times Gerry Rafferty’s “Baker Street” has been covered, you think I would have had an easier time finding it. Maybe the fact that the only words I knew had nothing to do with title was hold me back? ^_^
