I am currently borrowing the work van, which has just as much "character" as my car, with the major exception that it’s still driveable. But I got introduced to some of that character first hand when a flash thunderstorm hit just as I was getting ready to drive home.
You see, the drivers side wiper arm had a problem. When I turned it on, the arm went all the way to the left and off the car. I had to sit and wait at least a half hour before I could even start out. And I can now say from experience that driving home in a rainstorm without wipers is not something I want to do again anytime soon.
And no, I’m not crazy. When I did start to drive home, it looked as though the storm was over, but as soon as I got out onto the highway, part two kicked in, making the ride home rather, um, interesting.
