Don’t be a Dingman — just Thorpe it!

I have just returned from the second annual No-Maam weekend, hosted this year in scenic Jim Thorpe, PA. Some words I woul use to describe the events of the weekend:

  • Unintentional – I have to listen to directions a little closer next time, lest I leave someone else at home because I went to the wrong pick-up point. Sorry Jay!
  • Misdirected – Remember to double check those directions before heading out kiddies.
  • Lightheaded – The state of mind that was brought onto myself as I consumed mass ammounts of Mike’s Hard Lemonade.
  • Cold – Last no-mam we were stuck in the middle of a heat wave. This year it was like Fall started in August. But that made the campfire all the better to be around.
  • Active – Saturday was filled with all manner of sports; softball, ultimate frisbee, football, etc. Once we got back to camp, we feasted on things that were once living that had been cooked over searing hot flames. Mmmmm….
  • Canoeing – One of the best workouts ever invented, and too much fun. I want to do this again before the summer ends.
  • Exhausted – After fitting all that activity into one weekend, I’m ready to sleep until Wednesday. Unfortunately, the career is going to make that kind of hard to do.
  • Dirty – I desperately need a shower about now.

Talk of a winter no-mam is underway, and we’ve already decided to go back to the same spot next year. Probably the best weekend I’ve had in a while.

And a Happy 23rd Birthday to my pal Jesse today.
