You’ve run out of things to write about when….

Thursday, November 30th, 2000

It’s not a nice feeling when you wake up in the moring and find that your body has betrayed you and sold out to the viruses. The throbing head that feels like it’s under 20 feet of water, the constricted breathing that feels like I’m pulling each breath in through a narrow straw…this is just extra agrivation I can live without.

What’s even sadder is the fact that this passes for news in my life this week. God, how dull.

Save my shiny metal ass

And the cry went out to the masses: "Save Futurama! Save Futurama!" Yeah verily, a more nobel cause I have yet to find! This has to be one of the better shows that Fox has, yet the continue to bury it. Just goes to show you that TV executives truly don’t know what the country wants, and truly do have their heads up their asses.

Never seen an episode? Want to know why I’m ranting about a animated sitcom? I sugest jumping over to The Futurama Outlet and dosing yourself some knowledge.

Thanksgiving in New York state

Sunday, November 26th, 2000

Long time no post, eh?

I spent my Thanksgiving weekend in upstate New York at Ridin-Hy Ranch with my mom’s family, the first time in the past few years that the clan gathered for the holiday, and the first time I had been to the ranch in just under a decade or so.

It felt kind of odd walking around the place. Even though very little had changed physically, it seemed smaller somehow. Perhaps it’s because I was seeing it all through more grown-up eyes. Maybe my fond memories of the place just painted a larger-than-life portrait in my mind.

For the most part, it was a very enjoyable and memorable trip. I got to see some family members I hadn’t in a long time, and learned things about them I never knew. I just hope that my dad’s side of the family will resume the Christmas Eve parties of old — I never realized how much I missed them until now.
