Voting my conscience

Election day 2000, and my first vote in my new home town. Even with the added aggravation of finding my new designated polling place and waiting on two extremely long lines in a cramped hallway for a half an hour, it still felt good to stand in that booth and cast my vote for someone who had no chance to actually win. I am proud that I voted my concise, even if some consider it akin to wasting my vote. I stand behind my choice of Ralph Nader.

Now I get to sit at home with the TV set to any one of the numerous news channels and listen as the results start to pour in, to find out who the next leader of the free world will be.
