Rock, revelry, speeding and The Saint

An interesting mix of good and bad the last few days, but I’m just going to hit on a few of the biger events. That’s what happens when you avaoid writing for a week, I guess.

Wednesday night my sister and I headed down to the Theater of the Living Arts on South Street in Philly to catch Stabbing Westward. The band rocked, even though they played more songs off the new album than their older, harder tracks. The place went nuts when they cranked out "Save Yourself". Hell, even the opening act, The Apex Theory, was decent, and that all I can really ever ask for from a show.

But of course the trip home however couldn’t go by without incident. Put me on a long strech of dark highway and my foot begins to turn to lead, which made it all the easier for the cop who pulled me over for doing 67 in a 50. Ouch!

Yesterday was a bit more joyus, as my friend Dennis graduated from Ocean County College on his way up the ladder to UNC Wilmington. Congrats again Dennis! The fact that his parents took us out to Charlie Brown’s Steakhouse afterwards was just a nice bonus. ^_^

And on tonight’s agenda – Rustic Overtones! I have waited close to five years to see these guys again, and they’re playing right in my backyard. If anyone is up for a good show, check them out at The Saint tonight.
