After nearly a month as a computing refugee at work, I finally have a system to call my own. I think I may weep openly….

Tuesday, July 31st, 2001Code and Traffic
Monday, July 30th, 2001This would have to be classified as my first "slow day" at work since starting the job. Hence all the updates to my site: it took them quite a while to find something for me to do. But I’m sure this is not the norm, and I’m not going to let myself fall into that little rut again. i’ll find my own busy work if I have to.
As far as my weekend plans went, I did see a movie, but neither of the two I had mentioned. I finally found the time to watch Traffic, which I bought over a month ago sight unseen. I wasn’t disapointed, and I can see why Benicio Del Toro won his best supporting actor Oscar. A little disturbing at times, but it was meant to be that way.
Blasts from the past
Monday, July 30th, 2001I’m on a roll today. Not only have I added the long awaited comment system to the weblog, but the Archive section is back from the dead, so all my past hijinx are now available for your scrutiney. Have fun!
Your feedback will be greatly appreciated
Monday, July 30th, 2001After many, many requests by my readers (one in particular…Don), I have finally added a comment system to my weblog. You too can be a smartass and add your two cents to my rants and raves. Don’t say I never did anything for you. ^_^
Unwittingly close
Friday, July 27th, 2001It took nearly a month for me to find out my work is just 14 blocks south of Union Square, one of the cooler parts of New York that I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing. Maybe I should try walking north every now and again.
Even found a great place to eat right across from it too — Heartland Brewery. Good food, great service and a nice atmosphere to boot. The fact that I didn’t have to pay for my lunch today was just a nice bonus (thanks Filip).
The agenda for this weekend is set in sand, meaning I have no idea what I’ll end up doing. I want to try and get out to the movies (Planet of the Apes and Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within — an eye candy double feature), but if it actually comes to pass is yet to be seen.
