For the past month or so, I’ve been contributing to an MP3 server at work. This is one of the greatest things ever. I have a good portion of my favorite tunes to work by here, and I don’t have to lug around a massive CD book — I drag way too much shit into the city every day as is, so a few less ounces here and there makes it that much easier on my back and shoulders. ^_^
My addition to the collective to date has been 1,562 tracks, or to put it another three ways:
- Just under 9 GB of MP3 files.
- Close to 35½ hours of uninturupted music.
- 120 CD’s worth of music at an average of 13 tracks per disc.
It’s so nice to just open up WinAmp, throw it on random, and never have to hear the same song twice on a given day unless I want to. It sure as hell beats K-Rock. ^_^
(Note: If you use WinAmp, try the SqrSoft Advanced Crossfading Output plug-in. It gives you smooth fades between tracks.)
