Pints, pins and the cold face of responsibility

I have been kind of M.I.A. from my site the past few days — too busy living my life to really write about it. Well I have some time right now to catch you peeps all up on my deal. Word!

  • Wednesday night I got a surprise invite out from Dennis, back in Jersey for a very brief visit from his college down North Carolina way. We hit a few of the bars in Belmar, played pool and foosball, then got diner food.
  • Another night, another bar. No, I’m NOT turning into a lush! Thursday’s festivities were with Don, Nick and company down at The Dublin House. The topic of Kosher porn came up because Don has a habit of attracting the weirdest people into conversation. Yes Don, it was all your fault. ^_^
  • Bowling. Sport of Kings, Queens and guys named Earl. Spent the evening knocking back pins with Nick and some of his friends, not to mention the two charmers I hadn’t seen since my last snowboarding escapade, Julie and Vivian. (Sorry V, you got top billing last time).

Did fairly well for myself too (cough cough…164), considering how long I was away from the lanes for. Good enough to be invited to be the anchor man on the "Four Turkeys" bowling team soon to be formed (patent pending, patent pending, patent pending!).

  • Saturday night started with me, Nick, Viv and Julie along with their sister and her boyfriend heading out to get something to eat at Down To Earth (vegetarian cuisine at it’s best, so I’m told), saw a high school production of "The Wizard Of Oz" (with a real dog as Toto and a professional orchestra — high school plays have come a long way) and watched Strictly Ballroom with Julie on a VCR with bad tracking — at times it was like watching three movies at once. Final verdict: an all around good night.
  • Sunday can be grouped together with Monday this week for one simple fact: I spent it in the office in front of my computer. Yes, I know, a sad way to spend my weekend, but that responsibility thing makes you do weird shit sometimes.
  • This morning started way (and I mean WAY) to early for my tastes. Like 5:30 am early. And to make it just that much better, I had to spend my train ride standing out in the vestibule freezing my ass off because there were no seats left. At least it was an express train so I didn’t suffer all that long.

Debriefing over. Dis-missed! ^_^

It is not my fault!!! I just have a natural ability to attract the weirdest person in any given setting. Makes for good stories!!
