Rock and beats

Monday, April 29th, 2002

I got two CD’s this weekend to wrap up the birthday gifting to myself, and as much as I want to dig into Cracker, I just can’t pull myself away from Timo Maas. Damn if that boy can’t lay down those infectious beats. Some good stuff if you’re into the electronica and all that.

Name that tune!

How cool is this? Over in London a company called Shazam is working on a way to get cell phones to recongize music and tell you the song and artist. Wondering what the background music is in the resturant your at? This service will fix that. Freakin’ awesome!

Hobbies, collections and five little questions

Friday, April 26th, 2002

It’s time, once again, for everybody to read the Friiiiii-day Five:

1. What are your hobbies?
Web stuff, reading, doing artsy type stuff with my camera, Photoshop and Illustrator, writing (mostly song lyrics), hiking…gee, does this sound like a personals ad or what? ^_^

2. Do you collect anything? If so, what?
Ticket stubs from places I’ve been, like movies, concerts, etc. I used to collect trading cards back in my teenage years, but a basement flood took care of most of my collection.

3. Is there a hobby you’re interested in, but just don’t have the time/money to do?
Two in fact: I need to find the time to get back into drawing (the pencil to paper kind), and once I settle in on where I’ll be livign in the near future then some sort of martial arts. Judo and Karate are leading right now.

4. Have you ever turned a hobby into a moneymaking opportunity?
This internet thing started as a life absorbing hobby and wound up become my way of life. See, sometimes losing your life to a glowing box can be a good thing.

5. Besides web-related stuff (burbs, rings, etc.), what clubs do you belong to?
Supprisingly enough none, although I’m sure that will change in due time. This social interaction stuff is kind of new to me, y’know.

For those of you traveling to Nippon in the near future, you may be interested in reading the Universal Guide to Getting Laid in Japan. Maybe I should hang on to this info. You know, for future reference and stuff. ^_^

Bachelor party, execution style

Friday, April 26th, 2002

Just one week until I head out for a most unique bachelor party…a weekend spent camping and playing paintball in honor of good friend Mike getting hitched. Better stock up on the paint remover now Mike, ’cause you’re sure as hell going to need it! ^_^
