Rolling Stone has decided to name their fifty coolest and fifty uncoolest albums. Out of those 100, I can lay claim to three from the cool side in Steely Dan’s "Countdown To Ecstacy", Beck’s "Odelay" and The Chemical Brother’s "Dig Your Own Hole" and having owned (and LONG since trashed) one from the uncool list in…in…Kris Kross.
I know, I know. What the hell was I thinking? ^^;
Out of the other 49 slightly less than cool compilations are at least four I would love to add to my collection — Biz Markie, Supertramp, Vince Guaraldi and Tesla. How the hell they can be considered uncool I’ll never know. Then again, top pick lists are always subject to debate. I think that’s why they make them up in the first place.
