The Federal and Californian governments have certified Honda’s new fuel cell car, the FCX. While still in its infancy, fuel cells are one of the hopeful solutions to our dependance on and polution by internal combustion engines.

It’s like electric power with a kick
Monday, July 29th, 2002One two three turn, and one two three step, and one two three dip….
Monday, July 29th, 2002I have seen few things stranger than a man ballroom dancing with a dressed up sex doll in the subway station with a crowd watching him and expecting to be paid for his troubles. I would have taken a picture to prove I wasn’t making this up, but I think my camera would have burst into flames from the obscenity of it all.
People are strange. Strange indeed.
News, notes, death, games and chocolate — not in that order
Monday, July 29th, 2002Hope you’ve had a good weekend and all that. For dealing with my lame painting post, I’m rewarding you all with some assorted link fodder goodness:
- Put the hex to someone with Instant Voodoo.
- A review of the NES classic Super Dodge Ball by Seanbaby with an assist from with Don Flamenco and Kin Korn Karn of “Punch Out” and “Pro Wrestling“, repectively.
- A Philadelphia man was found dead in a vat of chocolate. I wonder how that’s going to go over with the other deadites when they’re all trading “how I bought the farm” stories.
- “Angelina Jolie has bounced Billy Bob Thornton“. Millions of horney, red-blooded Maxim readers rejoice.
It’s just like painting, but with less mess

I had been planing to make a trek down to Baltimore this morning to attend Otakon, an anime convention, but the though of driving 3 hours down to spend a large amount of money that I shouldn’t be spending and then 3 hours back didn’t seem all that apealing while nestled in my bed this morning. So instead I decided to stay local and go catch Goldmember. A decent flick that had some really funny moments, but nothing so funny that I’m going to plunk down another $8 to see it in the theaters again.
Anyway, I also spent some time tonight playing around with Painter 7 and the Wacom tablet I bought when I got my laptop back in November — the first extended use for both of the afformention products. You can see the result of that session here. It’s kind of a semi-quasi self portrait, though it started as anything but — really, I’m not that narcesistic. It’s not bad, as far as first attempts go, though I think it looks like I’m holding my breath or something.
And don’t get me started on the eyes. ^_^
Newfound respect for the Mandolin
Friday, July 26th, 2002Last night I ventured into the Stone Pony to see The Jazz Mandolin Project play. All I can really say about the whole performance is “wow”. This trio was absolutely phenominal, and Jon Fishman of Phish joined the band for one song. And what’s more amazing is the fact they played a solid two hour set of music with nary a break.
The opening act was a local Jersey jam band by the name of Blue Highways. They also rocked. The Pony has been having a lot of good Jam Band shows as of late. In fact, I’d venture to say it’s becoming the Jam Band venue for the Jersey Shore.
