“For it’s just one strike and we’re out at the old ball game!”

Baseball’s strike threat is only a scant 3 hours away from becoming a reality. I’ve still got my fingers crossed because I’ve been cursed with eternal optimisim and I always try to make the best of a shitty situation. That and it looks like they may actually be clsoe to a deal after an all-night negotiation session.

Update: I still find it hard to believe, but the owners and the players have reached a tentative agreement and the games will continue. Will wonders never cease….

Baseball is such a fine past-time. Really.

It would be a shame if there was a strike. What ever would we do without watching grown men running around bases in polyester making more money in a year than what most of us will make in a lifetime.

All those hotdogs and 16 oz beers would go to waste. Oscar Meyer will be pissed! We might actaully need a new(!) and hopefully a less boring (baseball is the most painful sport to watch on TV, second only to golf and nascar racing.) American past-time to occupy our weekends and weekday nights.

They should use those bats to knock some sense into them. Yeah how about this, how about runners don’t get tagged out, but get beaten to a bloody pulp with their own bat if they don’t hit the ball well enough. This is entertainment!!!

Or instead of pitching a ball, the pitcher can shoot baseballs at the batters with the guns they have in batting cages!! If the batters don’t passout after 10 or 20 shots to the do-dads, they take a base. Cups would be made illegal and batters would be retrained on one of those spinning medieval devices which makes the body look like a big X.

You all may think I’m sick and twisted, and you may be right, but you would watch “Run for Your Life Baseball.”

Nick, I think I hear FOX Sports calling for you. They want to make you head of their “game inovation” department. ^_^

As for baseball being boring to watch, I guess that’s just a matter of opinion — I was raised with the game and love it dearly, which is why this strike bullshit hurt me so. For the record, my prefered ways of wittnessing a game is “in person”, followed by “via radio” and then “via TV”.

“And now back to Nick “I’ll beat you with a baseball bat wrapped in barbedwire” From Neptune. I hear you AF. I don’t mean to push my polyester hang_ups on you. I just find it boring to watch. I was a young lad in poly playing little league many moons ago, so I can appreciate playing the game. But as for watching the game, I can’t do it.

And the strike is BS, I mean how much $ can you demand for hitting and throwing a ball? I say we all make our own leagues around the country, get everyone involved, then the pros will be out of a job cause everyone will be doing instead of watching. Then they will see that they were stupid ephers for getting involved with this strike.
