All it takes is one good program to get hooked on RSS

Ranchero Software can be credited with making the first RSS news reader for OS X that I actually give a damn about and would care to use in the form of NetNewsWire Lite. For those of my readership who have no clue what an RSS reader is, it’s a program that reads special kinds of files that some sites offer, (like my site for example,) listing the headlines and sometimes an excerpt from the site. This makes it easier to find when sites have been updated and interesting articles you may have missed otherwise.

For those in the PC world, here’s a list of RSS readers for your platfom.

But what really has be salivating is the soon to be released pro version will have features such as the ability to post to my weblog from the app and will be “train-friendly”, storing news on disk so I’ll be able to read on the go.

It’s like they’re building it just for me. ^_^
