Bush once again proves that he lives in his own world

Proving once again that G.W. Bush doesn’t give a fuck about the environment, his administration’s economic plan includes a 50% or more tax deduction on S.U.V.’s. And not just the base models either, but the big honkin’ globe crushers:

The plan would mean small businesses could immediately deduct the entire price of S.U.V.’s like the Hummer H2, the Lincoln Navigator and the Toyota Land Cruiser, even if the vehicles were loaded with every available option. Or a business owner, taking full advantage, could buy a BMW X5 sport utility vehicle for a few hundred dollars more than a Pontiac Bonneville sedan, after the immediate tax deductions were factored in.

Tax cuts like this should be used to promote positive change and not environmental mollestation. How about 50% tax deductions for alternative fuels or mass transit users instead of promoting more dependance on oil? Idiot!

Because alternate fuel cars and mass transit people do not stimulate the economy. Large cost items do. Nobody wants a alternate fuel car except the weary traveller. The people that spend money are the ones that want the biggest and baddest.

It makes sense on “why” he is doing it, but that doesnt mean he is right in doing it. From this article, it looks like these tax laws have been installed since the early 80s. He is just increasing the deduction to promote more sales.

The thing that is intriguing is that it looks like he might push for these vehicles to be more fuel conscience. I would love to see how the hell they are going to do that.

No offense, but nothing this President has done involving environmental protection to date leads me to believe that anything will get done about fuel consumption standards, and if it does it will be more of the negligible kind as a bone to keep the environmentalist community at bay. Not only that, but the loopholes he has widened will no doubt be exploited by the privledge few. Just the thought of this boils my blood.

So as a liberal, it’s not only like I’m being told to bend over, but to enjoy it as well.

The ecconomy will get better in the long run, but the damage has been controled and the extra tampering with the knobs like this and the proposed second Bush tax cut (when we haven’t even finished paying for the first) will tim the scale too far in the other direction and casue the economy to eventually overheat, leading to another bubble burst that I fear would hurt much more than the dot com bust. The ship has been righted, now get away from the damn controls!

Have you ever heard the man speak? How can you have any faith in him. And as sharp as a soup spoon.

You’ve got your head up your butt if for a moment you think Mr. Bush is for the environment or anyone who makes under 150K/yr.

    Check it…http://www.nrdc.org/

They happily put together the Bush Report and detail all that he’s done to destroy the world.

He is determined to start WW III or destroy the Earth before his term is up. DISCLAIMER: This is just a theory and doesn’t necessarily reflect the opinion(s) of Fischler.org or its management (Andrew). But I think we can all agree Bush is missing. His actions are motivated by money and nothing else other than his idiocy.

First off, I never DEFENDED his stance, I only stated that I understand what he is doing and I would love to see how they will accomplish the fuel standards for these monsters. I hate SUVs and wish they would die off the face of the earth. I know he isnt for the enviroment because frankly he isnt going to be. The enviroment has no money in it like oil, cars, and other high priced items.

As for him being for the people under 150k, he isnt and if you think for one moment ANYONE that sits in that seat, or any other seat in the government is, then you have blinders on. They care about one thing and that is the bottom dollar. Who is going to get them the most money? It sure isnt going to be the middle class or the poor. It is going to be the rich fat lobbist out there.

There will never be another president for the average person again. Because even is he truly is, congress and the senate will crush all his ideas.
