And the populous raised their voices to the machinery of war….

Saturday, January 18th, 2003

Not all of America is behind this oncoming war with Iraq, though the current Administration would like you to think otherwise. Proof of this was shown today as thousands of protesters gathered in Washington DC and San Francisco to make their voices heard.

(Aside: I know someone who made it to the DC protest….)

Strangely enough, there was a protest to the protest. Less than 100 people gathered at the National Mall to show their support for the current direction the government is taking:

Some people carried signs reading, “The Answer is they’re commies and wrong,” and “Best Defense? Good Offense!”

So, the question now is “What side of the fence do you sit on”?

The one lottery you don’t want to win….

For those of you ages 18 to 25, you may be interested to know a little bit more about the ways and means of Selective Service, just in case either (or god forbid, both) of these two impending police / proactive actions comes to pass.

The injustice of corporate rule over creativity was upheld by the Supreme court yesterday when they ruled 7-2 that the Sonny Bono Copyright Term Extension Act was constitutional, thereby keeping more works from entering the public domain (also here). Disney gets to keep Mickey from entering the public domain once again. Boooo!

You do realize you asked for this when you walked out of the salon like that, right?

Commissioner Ida L. Castro of the New Jersey Department of Personnel. She was on the locally hijacked part of headline news talking about local affairs. This post in not about any of that.

The colors max! The colors! This is about her hair.

Is Ida’s hair a sign that:

  1. She is actually Ronald McDonald’s mother.
  2. She is still a big Cindi Lauper fan.
  3. She should probably sue her hairdresser for gross negligence with a dye job.
  4. She is actually Ronald McDonald in drag.

Think it over and let me know. ^_^

The continued Googeling of my archives keeps turning up new surprises, such as the added comments to my bitching about a co-worker from 1999. Seems as though Laura here just needed someone to vent to.

Hey, glad to help out. ^_^

If anyone else wants to add their thoughts, by all means post away!
