It’s been a rather rough go the past couple of days here in AndyLand. As I write I’m currently on the down spin of some nasty summer bug, or so I hope. I’ve been all but useless today and to be quite frank I don’t like that feeling. Where it came from I have no clue. Tick bite? Bad chicken? The bogie man? All suitable suggestions in my current state of dimensia.
This has been hanging about it a very weak and annoying form for well over a week now, and fastly closing in on two. This helped to sap some of the enjoyment out of seeing Steely Dan this past Sunday with my dad (a belated father’s day gift). The mass amount of rain and chill we had to sit in for the show also took a bit of the edge from an otherwise great show. Chances are I’m going to try and swing up to see them in NYC come mid-September at Roseland; fully indoor venues have their upside, y’know.
Between all of this and nonsense I’m also finding time to sort through over two years worth of work files and coming up with a design for my For Hire section. I had hoped to have everything up and ready by the end of this week, but to do it right I’m going to have to put in much more time than that deadline will allow. I could probably do it if it were the only thing on my plate, but I need to balance that out with all the other aspects in my life I don’t have enough time for.
Who here is in favor of expanding to a 28 hour day? I’m sure we can get some politician to make it a referendum in the next elections, and who wouldn’t be for having a few extra hours every day? But then we’d find some way to fill those hours with work or something and before you know it we’d have to push the bar higher and higher until we got to a point where we’re voting on 72 hour long days and such nonsense.
Yeah, that last part was definitely the NyQuil talking.

With a 4 month old and a wife that works from 2 til 6 in the morning, I vote for a 48 hour day. It takes me 2 weeks to get around to cutting the grass.
The 48 hour split would probably be a lot easier to manage than a 72 hour one, so maybe that would be a good way to go about it. Any idea which congressman we should be hitting up for this bill?
Also, you might think about purchasing a goat to help manage your lawn length. Just think of the savings on mower maintenance and goat food combined. Pure brilliance!
