For those of you still trying to find ways to justify the war in Iraq, your task has just gotten that much harder. According to this pleasant little article, when it came to juding a nation’s weapons threat our intelligence community truley knew nothing. Pakistan, Libya and North Korea were far greater risks with their weapons development than Iraq was since the end of the Gulf War.
Said the CIA’s former chief weapons inspector, David Kay:
.”The regime was no longer in control. It was like a death spiral.”
Yeah, that sure sounds like the summation of the greatest threat to organized freedom the world has ever known. Some are saying the president was fed bad intel which helped influence his decisions to go to war, but I find that to be total horse shit. Seems to me more like they just turned a blind eye to the things that didn’t backup their planned forceful intervention and blew out of proportion those things that could help their cause. I am personally ashamed that I too fell for the exaggeration of information.
And even if bad intel is the reason the president pushed us into battle, it’s still shame on him for not making sure on his facts before taking the steps. Cursory glances of morning briefing agendas aren’t good enough when the course of history and the lives of your citizens are at stake.

(Editor: Yup, forgot to use my spellcheck on the title. You got me. Fixed now. Happy? ^_^ )
You know something? You are entirely right. Pakistan, Libya and North Korea are all far bigger threats than Iraq was. I think we need to set forth a plan to kick there slimey asses too!! Thanks for setting me straight Andy.
Um… what he said. Don’t mess with Texas!! AAAIIIIIIIEEEEHHHHHHHAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Actually, this has been on the ‘agenda’ for quite some time. Check out the date of this letter – this extends far beyond the scope of tbe Bush administration. Again, puppetry at it’s finest!

Um, doesnt every politician have an agenda? Isn’t that the reason we elect them? Would it be better if we elected somebody with no goals or aspirations whatsoever? They could spend the first month figuring out what they wanted to do. That would be great!!
Well, there’s quite a difference between an openly campaigned agenda, and a behind-the-scenes, in-our-best-interest kind of agenda that politicians seem so fond of these days. Do you think Bush would have gotten elected if he advertised the republican party’s will to obliterate Hussein at all costs, regardless of found (or unfound) weapons? Oh wait, that’s right. He probably would have stolen the presidency anyway. *chuckle*
Do you see what I mean though? Of course all politicians have agendas, silly, that’s the nature of politics
Does everyone forget about resoloution 1441, the 17th resoloution in 12 years. In the Cease Fire agreement at the end of the gulf war, saddam agreed to destroy all WMD’s and prove that he did. He failed to prove it, for 12 years and 17 resoloutions. We don’t need to find weapons, we were justified. This war was a continuation of the first gulf war. Unfortunatly I don’t have enough information to say that we would be justified to attack those other countries, but I don’t think we are.
P.S. I thank god that Bush is president and not Gore, who know’s what that candyass would have done. Probably nothing.
The problem with this entire situation is the tactic the Bush Administration likes to use called “Shifting the Burden of Proof”. The burden of proof is always (or should always be) on the person making the accusations, in this heaping pile of a mess: The Bush Administration.
By shifting the burden of proof to the ones denying the accusations (ie- the evildoers), you’re presenting a problem that something is true unless proven false. Guilty until proven innocent. Ya know … ideals that this country was founded upon.
This even violates the scientific method. You can surely prove that something DOES exist (which the U.S. did not) but you can NOT prove that something does NOT exist. The Easter Bunny may be real (though I have my doubts), but I’m not dumb enough to waste my time trying to convince others the same thing.
But Iraq was dumb enough to waste their time. We’ve been pushing for regime change since the first Gulf War ended. Which is a whole other ball of wax that I don’t want to get into right now.
Besides, fighting for peace is like fucking for virginity.
“There is a problem – the probable posession of weapons of mass destruction by an uncontrollable country, Iraq. The international community is right…in having decided Iraq should be disarmed.” When the President says something like that, I supposed you can start to scribble down things like “cursory glances of morning briefings” and “planned forceful intervention”. The only problem for me is that President Bush didn’t say that – President Chirac did (Time – February 2003). It is important to recognize that other nations’ intel services were all aligned with the US prior to the war. Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service argued that Iraq might be able to build a bomb within in 3 years. Israel, Russia, Britian, China and France all held similar positions to that of the US. Effectively, no one doubted that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. This is necessary to take into account when we discuss who did what and why.
What’s an “Ooopise”?
Someone has to stop stealing George Carlin lines.
Wmd, no wmd, who gives a shit?? We are the u.s. of mother fucking a.!!! If we want to put Saddams nuts in a vise, then ladee freakin daa!!! What are you going to do about it France? Nothing!! Now go make some more cheese that smells like you mom’s box, you snaill eating pussies!! Where is John Wayne when you need him? Long live the Duke!!!
Still here.
