Say it like you mean it

Thursday, August 5th, 2004

Dave Chappelle can now say “I’m rich, biatch!” and mean it. He gets mad green and we all get the funniest show on TV for at least two more seasons. It’s win-win!

All the world loves a fool

See how the world looks to a fool. Funny and nice to look at at the same time.

A noble crusade if ever I’ve heard one

Someone has taken the fight against bad music to the next step. Introduce yourselves to You Have Bad Taste in Music and watch the video clips. Funny as all hell.

Clearing my head of creativity

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2004

I do love my side projects, those little artistically driven endeavors that remind me why I got into working with all things digital in the first place. But for too long many of these side projects would sit and stagnate either in my head or in some half-finished state on my hard drive.

FINALLY, that log jam is starting to clear up.

Today I added two new pieces to the Great Southern Swing quintology of vacation videos that I started back in January when I launched the Memories section of this site. Before the month of August is gone I will have parts four and five up as well.

I still have a ton of video from this year’s Bonnaroo that I want to tie together, but I have somewhat more ambitious plans for that footage. Since the quality of both the audio is much better and the clips are longer (thanks to a newer camera and all), I can actually use the source audio from the performances this time around. Think more of a documentary style.

In fact, the whole reason I started making these little music video pieces was because the source material was, in a word, crap. Of course, it does give the whole thing a more gritty feel. Underground, baby!

Hopefully all this work will help give me a jump start in getting a new design for the site, which is not going to be done in time for the 5th anniversary of Fischler.org on August 15th. I’m not gonna rush this, ’cause I plan to have this next design last for a long time.

Is anyone still reading this crap, or did I put you all to sleep?

As Method Shop points out, the iTunes music store is now publishing DNC speeches and the 9/11 commission hearings for free. Let’s hope they keep it up, as this is a great way to stay up to date and be an informed citizen.

(Also posted over on Everything Stinks. Are you reading it every day yet?)
