Q: What changes can I make to this site to make it better for those who read it?
I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about blogs as of late, partially due to the freelance work I’m currently engaged in. This has also been mixed in with a bit o’ feedback and the own ideas I have kicking in my head for my next redesign. So I’m asking those of you who partake in my particular brand of madness what direction you’d care to see things head in.
- Do you like longer article-sized posts or the shorter, bite-sized ones?
- Should I get more link heavy with my posting?
- Are there any other features that you’d like to see added?
- Is everything right with the world and am I a fool for wanting to change it?
The more feedback, the better. Now that all the world knows what a blog is, the standards are being upped ever so slightly. So what if this is all just some overly-consuming personal hobby? It’s a hobby I take quite seriously, damnit! ^_^
I for one never check out the links. Seems too much like work. I think the best thing would be for everyone to stop acting so mousy and speak thier minds!!
“Stop acting so mousy and speak thier minds!!”
Don, sounds like you’re still hung up on the election thread that turned out to be so popular. Still, your voice has been heard and the comments are appreciated.
That’s one vote for less links. Anyone else have any suggestions?
Video of people walking into glass doors, or monkey’s throwing poo.
That would be a big improvement.
Ok, now this is what I would term a less useful suggestion. If I can find any of that I’ll sent it your way Mike, but maybe you could put some more though into the subject and come back with a real suggestion?
I am not by any means hung up on th eelection thread. It just so happens that was a good example. I want people to get off the sidelines and get in the game. In turn I look to you to be a effective moderator of sorts. It is up to you to prompt us into comenting. Give us blogs on stuff worth chiming in about. My guess is you will get more posts on politics than the new models of chia pet. I want interaction and stimulating exchanges. That and more monkeys flinging poo.
I would like to see some more topics about the current events of the week. It doesn’t matter if it’s politics, sports, religion… as long as it starts an interesting thread of conversation.
P.S. If you can’t find monkeys flinging poo, a dog humping somebodys leg is always an option.
Good suggestions. I will do what I can to bring current events back into the mix. It’ll take a little bit of discipline on my part but if it gets you all posting then it will be worth it. Maybe you guys could drag some new blood into the mix on these conversations?
I think Mike did a better job of saying what I was thinking. Current events are the bomb. And dogs humping legs! One more thing, I had another awesome baby this morning!!!!! Merideth Ann Donahue, 7lbs 2 oz. 18 1/2 inches, full head of dark wavy hair and cute as a button!!!!
Congrats to you and your family there Donny! Does Merideth have any suggestions since she is now, by extension and your mention, a member of the Fischler.org family? ^_^
Congrat’s Don. So when can we expect #4?
I think the jugernaut of procreation that is the Donahue household may be closed for buisness.
…or not?
Ok, there’s a new post regarding Don and his prowess at the act of procreation over here: New additions.
All well wishes and baby discussions should go there. Any others on here will either be relocated or removed. Now back to talk on how to improve this site for the readership….
Well well well … congratulations Mr. Donahue. You had better slow down, though, and wait for the rest of us to catch up.
Speaking of catching up … I just realized that I have a lot to tell you since our last conversation. Come to think of it, I have a lot to tell everyone. Stay by the phone just before the holidays.
That is an awfully cable company-esque time frame. I am not sure I can commit to such a large amount of time just sitting by the phone waiting for an update. My employer does have some expectations on my attendance. I will see what I can do though.
Damn, I was out trying to get myself one of those “lifes” everyone is so high on having and missed my chance to be the first to swat back at Igor’s post. Well, since my cell is my only phone I really didn’t have too much of an argument anyway.
i like your site. it is very enjoyable. the monkeys are cute. my grandson loves them.
