JamBase has a long-ass article up on one of the hardest working, rocking-est bands around today: RANA. A little nugget of joy from the write-up about the sharing of the songwriting duties:
“Since there are three main songwriters in the group, (Matt, Scott, Andrew) and each of us sing very differently, each song is treated differently,” Andrew Southern tells us. “The voice is determined by the lyrics, yes, because if it was determined by anything else it would be commercial appeal, and we’re not interested in that.”
Seems the boys have finished their follow-up album to “Here in the USA”, entitled “What It Is” (both of which are available on their merch page). As much as I’d love to splurge for the CD now, I think I’m gonna wait for their upcoming show at Tribeca Rock Club on the 30th and just grab it there. It’ll be my after-Christmas present to myself.
