80% perspiration with 15 minute delays inbound

I’m feeling a little lightheaded at the moment — partially from the sweltering heat and partially from having just shot around on the basketball court across from my apartment for the past 30 minutes in said heat. The temps haven’t dropped below 80 here all night and if I’m going to be forced to take a shower to alleviate myself from the sweat that comes with such a heat wave, i might as well get a workout in the process and earn that shower, right?

I do seem to be making at least more than token use of the courts, which is a good thing. My game certainly needs the work, and the old bod could stand to be in better shape. Then again, I have yet to find when either of those statements have never been true for me, even when I’ve been at my peak in both. Maybe I just like shooting hoops in the pre-dawn light with the top of the Empire State building just peaking over the top of the buildings at Lincoln Harbor.

Oh, and you know what else’s weird? Turning on the TV to one of those god-awful morning shows, listening to the piece of eye candy up in the traffic chopper lay out the delays at the Lincoln Tunnel and actually hearing said chopper out my window. That made me laugh a bit. Then again, I’m usually easier to amuse when I’ve deprived myself of an evening of sleep. I’m funny that way.

  1. Nick says:

I think you should give an PodCast traffic report. :)

  2. Certainly an under-supported segment of the broadcast realm, but do you really think listening to a traffic report two days after the jam has already cleared would be useful? Maybe you should suggest this to Yahoo, since they’re already doing the traffic report thing with their online maps.

Either that, or take up the cause yourself. You could do some live traffic reporting right from the 287. I smell ratings! Or is that diesel fumes? :)
