It’s rainy, dark and late. I’m still up, digging around with blogging software and a text editor prepping for the work week ahead. Of course, this will all double as work to do some new things around here too, but we all know how those promises usually go.
Kind of an eventful weekend. Concert with Ryan and David on Friday night, where I’m starting to see that maybe my new camera might not be up to snuff for my needs. Saturday Shannon came up to join me and some of my New York crew at Karaoke in Park Slope, which was a great time for everyone involved. Early on Sunday, Big Truck and Jesse were up here to do some jamming, which turned into a very focused session where we actually completed a song from the standpoint of guitars and lyrics. They had with them what amounted to two separate songs and stories and at least from the wordsmithing side of things, I contributed heavily to the process of tying them together. Time to get together a set list of songs (we have at least 4 or 5 whole ones) and get ourselves recorded. Don’t be shocked if there’s a MySpace page set up for this somewhere in the ’06.
Of course, the biggest news I got over the weekend would have to be the that Jesse and Eileen are having a kid — my head is still swimming over this one. Best of wishes to both of them, though I’m sure they’ll do fine. The numbers of my friends with children continues to grow, and I highly doubt that the scale is going to tip the other direction anytime soon.
