Read my personal bullshit and then watch some movies

Tuesday, March 14th, 2006

From the lowest of the lows to the highest of the highs, I really can’t explain it. A few weeks ago I was in a very dark place for no apparent reason. Here tonight I’m in one of the better moods I’ve been in, well, at least in the last few years. Can’t really explain it, either. All I know is my big mouth wouldn’t shut up during pub trivia at the Big Quiz Thing.   Oh yes, that I was reminded of quite frequently.   To the point of embarrassment, actually.

Huh, go figure. Put a few beers in his mouth and the quiet kid gets all loud and rowdy. Big surprise. Whoop-id-e-doo and all that nonsensical bullshit.   Oh no!   More cuss words!   My poor virgin ears…err, eyes….

Where was I?

Conducted my first ever phone interview today, and second interview overall since starting with the killer company known as Lime Group. Still strange to be on the other side of the table — asking the questions instead of answering, reading reactions instead of making impressions. It really is a whole new world to me, and I’m happy to say that I’m learning something new every day I go into that office. I can’t help but come away a better person for the experience.

Now, I think the title promised you some movies. I’ve been sitting on more than a few post ideas in the past few weeks while consumed with work, or the web, or sleeping, or crystal meth and algebraic equations, or…what was I talking about? Oh yeah. I was saying I was lazy about blogging.   What a surprise!

Mostly this centers around everyone and their mother seemingly discovering YouTube at the same time.   Quite a good thing for a site that just a month or two ago was completely off the radar.   Here’s some of the better clips that I’ve been pointed to or found on my own:

That’s it.   Show’s over.   Be enlightened and laugh at those damn Order of the Serpentine ads.   That is all.

What to write about when you’ve got nothing to say

You would think for all the thinking I’ve been doing lately that I’d have a few conclusions to hang onto.   But alas, the world still twists and turns at me in serpentine form; convoluted and
contradicting.   And a head full of Hunter S.’s writings are only adding to the insanity.   My fault for choosing it as subway reading material, I suppose.

The recent week was good, and I have to say a lot of the thanks for that goes to one of my coworkers, who was nice enough to snap me back from the brink of my old flaky habits.   The workload overload I was suffering from has abated itself and I’m moving more things from their status of perpetual development to more finished forms.
Damn, is work all I can talk about?   Change the fucking subject, son!

Weather wise it looks like it’s going to be a fantastic weekend.   Got into the 70′s today, which made me twice as glad that I ditched the heavy coat this morning for a zip-up sweatshirt.   I actually have plans to make good use of the warm weather too with a Sunday bike ride.   For now, I’m just happy to have the heat off and the window open in my apartment for some fresh air.   But responsibility reigns as well.   Gotta sort those papers and get those taxes ready.   The apartment blew up once again, so I have to pick up the pieces and put them away as well.   Ah well, that’s life, y’know.
