Having fun in the first-person plural pronoun

Just a hair over two months since it was released upon the world, and the Nintendo Wii is still a hard item to find. More than once I’ve bounced from store to store in search of one to call my own, but until this morning, I had no luck.

The late night worker that I am, I found myself still awake at 6 am, wondering if I should hit the sack or not. Then I remembered reading that Target was sitting on Wii shipments until today, and for once I was actually going to be up early enough to be at one of the stores when the doors opened.

Thankfully I live within shouting distance of three Target stores, because the first one I went to in Jersey City was sold out by the time I got there at 8 am. I was shocked that they were still making people use tickets to even get a chance to buy a system, and my heart sunk a bit when I overheard someone say they had been in line since 4:30 am. But it was a much different scene up at the North Bergen store. By the time I walked up to the electronics department at 8:30 am, the line had shrunk to only 3 people, and there were at least 5 beautifully boxed systems sitting in a giant rolling metal cage.

The math was in my favor, for once. ^_^

Short cut

So much for empty blogging calories, huh? Maybe you should just link up to my twitter page to keep track of what I’m doing in the here and now, because obviously I’m finding blogging to be too hard to do regularly these days.

Anyway…been a few changes the past week, but most notably, the hair:

short-cut.jpg

I didn’t intend to have my hair cut to its shortest length in about a decade — it just kind of happened. I had been sitting in the dentist’s chair just an hour beforehand, having my second permanent cap installed, and I think they might have driven the Novocain needle a wee bit too deep and numbed part of my brain. I told the guy to take about two inches off the length, and then decided to go a bit further and have another half-inch removed. Of course, that meant he took another two inches off, and the bad photo with the horrible pose above is the result.

After living with the results for a whole week, I can say the look is starting to grow on me. Still, that doesn’t mean I’m forgoing the option to let it grow again.

And the resolution, she be fallin’….

Well, 12 days into the new year, but I can’t keep my resolution any longer. The will to go a whole year without word one on this website is failing me. My restraint, she no longer gotta the oomph. Yes, I’m poking fun at the infrequency of my blogging. Just like my designing chops, these writing ones of mine are starting to feel a tad rusty. If not for the mass of emails I was shooting back and forth to friends and family over the holiday, I’m not sure if I’d remember how to perform the art of taking words into sentences and tying them together into nice little bundles of paragraphs.

I’m gonna try going back to my roots with the link-a-day post style I started with. This should help with the frequency, though it’s the net equivalent of downing twinkies: empty, carbo-loaded calories that will eventually rot your innards if you consume too much of it.
