Three Things for Today: Oct. 18, 2007

It’s a bit cloudy outside today, but on the internet, the weather is always the same, and the visibility is always awesome. In view today:

  1. A while back, A List Apart asked the designers and developers of the web to answer some survey questions they had (which I gladly did). Now after taking some time do collate and organize, they’ve posted the results.
  2. Following in the footsteps of Facebook, MySpace has announced that they’re opening their platform to 3rd party development. Ugly looking apps with glitter soon to follow.
  3. The head of the FCC is circulating around the idea of relaxing decades-old media ownership rules, including those that forbids a company to own both a newspaper and a television or radio station in the same city. Now that’s just what this world needs: more media conglomoratio (groan!).
