Okay, I’ve got six minutes to write up a post here if I want to keep this new streak going, but I’ll be damned if I know what to write here. It could be about the beer-garden-esque bar I was just at, where liter mugs of beer flowed freely. Maybe the cool new Wii game someone gave me in honor of my recently passed birthday? The weekend of tech support, birthday dinners and concerts (in honor of my sister — not me) ahead of me? What about the hellish schedule I’ll have to keep to deliver this web-site update to my friend for May 1st?

Really, i think I had something more poignant to talk about. Tis a shame I forgot it between Union Square and my front door.

i need a new job,
one that does what it should
one that won’t keep me up all night
or make me sleep all day
I need a new job
one that will pay me
better than the one I have
I need a new job
one that won’t make me restless
wondering like I feel when I at work IMing you
i have a postcard to do now

He’s a good guy at a job that’s sucking his soul away. If you have a better place for him to work, I’m sure he’d love to talk with you. I can kind of relate to the pain.

What makes this situation all the more frightening is the fact that both of these countries hold nuclear strike capabilities and very itchy trigger fingers.

I’m going to take a wild guess and say this is getting close to kind of feeling that was in the air back in the days of the Cuban missle crisis. The fact that this is happening half a world away provides me with very little comfort. I may be naive for saying this, but why can’t we all just get along? Why must there be such hatred in the world? Why? Just why?

The front page of the New York Times showcased an article in which the F.B.I. Chief admits 9/11 may have been detectable after all, going back on the mantra they had been repeating since the tragedy; that there was no way to prevent what happened:

"’I cannot say for sure that there wasn’t a possibility we could have come across some lead that would have led us to the hijackers,’ Mr. Mueller told reporters after listing several missed opportunities by officials to discern a pattern of terrorist planning before Sept. 11".

The F.B.I. will now be recentering their efforts to make their fundamental mission the prevention of new terrorist operations, and a new Office of Intelligence is being created to give the agency the capacity to piece together leads from diffrent cases more effectively.

Still, the fact that this might have been prevented? I’m stunned and sickened at the same time.

I’m left scratching my head here. How did I let Rez slip by my video game radar? A music-based shooter with tricked out visuals? Considering I love shooters to begin with (Gradius and Life Force are friggin’ classics!) I’m a little embarrased to have missed it. Guess I’ll have to make a trip out to the used rack at FuncoLand or stop by my local Blockbuster and get my shoot on.

And for the record the shooter genre was much larger that Gradius and R-Type. Just take a trip out to The Shooter Database to see what I mean.
