Blogging in the big city
Thursday, May 30th, 2002We should have been able to see it coming
Thursday, May 30th, 2002The front page of the New York Times showcased an article in which the F.B.I. Chief admits 9/11 may have been detectable after all, going back on the mantra they had been repeating since the tragedy; that there was no way to prevent what happened:
"’I cannot say for sure that there wasn’t a possibility we could have come across some lead that would have led us to the hijackers,’ Mr. Mueller told reporters after listing several missed opportunities by officials to discern a pattern of terrorist planning before Sept. 11".
The F.B.I. will now be recentering their efforts to make their fundamental mission the prevention of new terrorist operations, and a new Office of Intelligence is being created to give the agency the capacity to piece together leads from diffrent cases more effectively.
Still, the fact that this might have been prevented? I’m stunned and sickened at the same time.

How to fight the beast

My twitch radar must be offline
Tuesday, May 21st, 2002I’m left scratching my head here. How did I let Rez slip by my video game radar? A music-based shooter with tricked out visuals? Considering I love shooters to begin with (Gradius and Life Force are friggin’ classics!) I’m a little embarrased to have missed it. Guess I’ll have to make a trip out to the used rack at FuncoLand or stop by my local Blockbuster and get my shoot on.
And for the record the shooter genre was much larger that Gradius and R-Type. Just take a trip out to The Shooter Database to see what I mean.
